OUR STORY

School of Send was founded by Gary Paasch in 2017 right here in Hood River, OR. An all around outdoor enthusiast, Gary is a lifelong Hood River local who has been riding and working on our trails since he was in High School.

At 29, he set out to start a program where he could spread his love and knowledge of mountain biking to the next generation. Since then, School of Send has continued to honor Gary’s passion and mission of bikes, community, and stoke.

School of Send is currently run by Luke Hansen, a former student of Gary's. He began as an assistant coach in high-school, during SOS's second year in operation, before eventually becoming a head coach, then general manager, and finally taking the reins in December of 2024.

Luke’s passion for the outdoors and biking has helped him eagerly continue Gary’s founding mission. School of Send is here to bring people together, united by our appreciation for bikes, our home, and our amazing community.

OUR MISSION

We aim to create a community of like-minded riders that build mountain biking skills in a progressive, comfortable, and positive environment.
Our principal mission is to teach School of Send riders to take responsibility for trail maintenance, relationships with community organizations like HRATS, and create positive relationships with all trail users.
Coaching with a challenge-by-choice mindset, we are dedicated to helping riders build the skills, confidence, and attitudes that will help them grow as riders and individuals.
Building a better community one send at a time.
Stoked for you to follow along!
